SUMMARY:Accelerating Grid Modernization with EVs Symposium
DESCRIPTION:Join us for the Accelerating Grid Modernization with EVs Symposium + Grid Forward Annual Meeting + ABB FIA Formula E World Championship. \nGrid Forward is excited to announce that the Symposium Accelerating Grid Modernization with EVs\, will be done in conjunction with its Annual Membership Meeting\, and next to the Portland ePrix race of the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship. \nRapid advances in EVs and vehicle-to-grid (V2G) technologies are a promising pathway to help balance the grid and increase the capacity for diverse energy resources. Those benefits require a great deal of collaboration among the technology providers\, car manufactures\, utilities\, charging network operators and regulators. Grid Forward will bring together expert stakeholders to provide a snapshot of where the integration of EVs and the grid can provide value and how we can all move together to that vision. \nFormula E is the world’s premier electric racing series\, and Portland is the only North American city to host it in 2023. This racing series is an exciting showcase of cutting-edge technology and innovation in electric vehicles. Join in for our summit the day before the race\, and attend the race with us and get close to the action! \n  \nLearn more and buy tickets here

SUMMARY:Living Building Challenge Case Studies Summit
DESCRIPTION:Project teams from several exemplary LBC case studies will share all of their best advice for how to achieve the Living Building Challenge! \nThe Living Building Challenge defines the most advanced measure of regenerative design in the built environment today. As a certification program\, it asks project teams to think about every single act of design and construction as an opportunity to make a positive impact in our movement toward a socially just\, culturally rich\, and ecologically restorative future. The specific methodology used to meet the expectations of the Living Building Challenge is not up to the Institute—but rather to the genius of the design teams\, owners\, and occupants themselves. \nRegister

SUMMARY:GridFWD Seattle
DESCRIPTION:Reconnecting the community moving modernization and innovation of the electric grid ahead to meet the needs of the energy transition.\n\n\n\n\nThe past two years have been unprecedented for our region: the pandemic with its brutal human and economic repercussions; a historic and devastating wildfire season; a nationwide movement for racial and energy justice; ice storms and more. Federal energy policy is rapidly evolving and lining up with major regional legislation and policy shifts to pursue resiliency\, clean energy and decarbonization. Through it all\, our industry has done a remarkable job in maintaining the grid to meet our region’s needs while continuing to push forward on grid modernization and decarbonization.
