SUMMARY:2025 Conference - Powering Careers: Workforce Development for a Clean Energy Transition
DESCRIPTION:CUB Conference Panel: Powering Careers\nOregon CUB has built a stacked roster of panels for the 15th Annual CUB Energy Policy Conference! Their staff recruited insightful experts and community leaders to speak on some of the most pressing issues facing the energy sector. Today\, they’re excited to announce their second afternoon breakout panel\, Powering Careers: Workforce Development for a Clean Energy Transition. \nAfternoon Breakout Panel – Powering Careers: Workforce Development for a Clean Energy Transition\nOregon has set ambitious goals for creating and sustaining meaningful living wage jobs and promoting workforce equity. For Oregon to develop our clean energy sector\, we must also have a robust and diverse workforce. We can meet and exceed our energy goals by building opportunities for new jobs that support renewable energy\, energy efficiency\, and whole-home repairs. These employment opportunities support not just our emission reduction goals\, but also how our communities can thrive in a just transition. \nThis conversation will connect to the real-world\, tangible examples of the opportunities to expand our green economy. Speakers will discuss challenges that arise when there is not a robust workforce available. By looking across the energy industry\, the panel will explore what an equitable green workforce is capable of. \nModerator: Ryan Tran\, Economist \n  \nRegister

SUMMARY:Portland Reuse Summit
DESCRIPTION:Solutions for Climate\, Business and a Cleaner City!\nThe Portland REUSE Summit brings together leaders in Portland’s government\, business\, restaurant\, environmental orgs\, and the waste and recycling industry\, to take a deep look at the potential of reuse foodware systems\, and the impact that these systems can have on climate\, litter\, and business. \nWe’ll examine how reusable foodware mandates have been incorporated into other city’s Climate Plans\, as well as existent policies for reuse at dine-in and large venues\, and what kind of metrics have been seen on the effectiveness of these policies. \nWe’ll look to reuse case studies in Portland and discuss feasibility of growing the city’s reuse economy and infrastructure. We’ll also look at pilot projects that are being intoduced through Metro’s new Choose to Reuse campaign. \nThere will be input from the city’s Bureau of Planning and Sustainability on what path our city will need to take to begin implementing reuse policy. Time for breakout brainstorms will be included. \nOrganized by the Reusable Portland Coalition. \n  \nRegister
