The We Build Green Cities initiative supports companies offering products, services and technologies that address the climate change crisis, adapt to the effects of climate change and solve environmental challenges. Prosper Portland, the City of Portland’s economic development agency, manages the initiative with a dedicated Green Cities Industry Liaison supporting the climate tech, clean tech and green building industry. 

For more than 15 years, we’ve helped companies grow roots in the Rose City and become leaders in green building, clean energy, water conservation, clean transportation and environmental services. As part of the We Build Green Cities initiative, Prosper Portland creates programs, maximizes partnerships and curates connections to help businesses increase sales, invest locally and increase employment. Prosper Portland’s specific support includes:

• Targeted trade show assistance
• Business finance and grant programs for City of Portland businesses
• Partner referrals and B2B connections
• Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) assistance via Portland Means Progress and the Inspiring Diversity Grant
• Recruitment and site location assistance
• Foreign direct investment and export assistance
